Looking for a better, safer home for your family is a powerful definition of love. The American West was our border many years ago. Hazardous conditions, natives being disrupted, gun violence, disease, starvation, and harsh weather.
Men, women, and children headed West into the unknown. Dime store paperbacks told of acts of valor, millions of acres of land, beautiful mountains, and crisp, clean water. Fables of bravery, success, and excitement spurred people to pack everything up and head towards their dreams.
Unfortunately, our government decided white people had more rights to the land than the original owners. White settlers clashed with tribes, and the Calvary rode in to save the settlers.
The move north for today’s Hispanic migration is filled with violence, crime, disease, starvation, and harsh weather. The “natives” (white Americans) feel threatened and unwilling to share the greatness of America.
What if there were settlers unwilling to share during our expansion West? How can we fault someone doing the exact thing our ancestors did?
The United States would not have matured into a glorious destination if the Indigenous Peoples had built a “wall” to keep us out and then imprisoned us.
The bounty of the United States is flourishing thanks to hard-working immigrants. Homes are built, food is picked, chores are done, and everyone benefits from the shared economy.
The hatred of immigrants and denying them acceptance has a built-in trap that will change our lives for the worse.
Just wait it’s going to be coming your way. Wealth won’t protect you. Where you live won’t save you.
I hope your hatred and ignorance won’t hurt those seeking a new world. The millions crossing the sea got their chance (that’s why you are here). It’s someone else’s turn.

I have always lived around immigrants. Two became dear friends. The men and women from Mexico to feed their families were discriminated against and always had heads bowed. It makes me sad
